The Imo State police command have debunked the news suggesting that the suspect in the murder of late Ndubuisi Emenike, Sydney Ogudoro, was dead.
Posts on social media platforms had claimed that the suspect was dead. Some comments on the posts insisted his death was planned to bring to an end investigations on the death of Ndubuisi Emenike, a front line politician.
But in a swift response, the Public Relations Officer of Imo Police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, has said that there was no truth in such story.
Orlando who wrote on his Facebook wall said that the story was not only fake but false alarm and hate speech.
He wrote, “Good morning all, I have been seeing the posts making the rounds on various social media Platforms that the suspect in the murder of Ndubuisi Emenike AKA Ototonwa, SYDNEY OGUDORO is dead, well I just want to state I (sic) clear terms that there is no truth in the Matter(sic) as I just visited him and am(sic) right here with him as am (sic) making this post.”
Emenike who was killed last month was the 2019 senatorial candidate of the Action Alliance in Imo North.
The politician popularly known as Ototonwa was shot dead by Ogudoro, an operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
